How to Make Incredible New Year’s Eve Party Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two round cake pans by greasing them with butter and lining the bottoms with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue mixing until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
- One by one, add the eggs into the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Blend in the vanilla extract.
- Alternately add the dry ingredient mixture and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry components. Stir until just combined.
- Separate batter into bowls and stir in food coloring for desired vibrant shades.
- Pour the colored batters into the prepared pans in alternating layers or create swirls.
- Place cakes in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost each layer with your preferred frosting and decorate as desired.
Notes
Add edible glitter for a magical touch! Serve with champagne or non-alcoholic mocktails.
