  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For brushing
For the Creamy Spread
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Dairy-free cream cheese for vegan option.
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped chives Substitute with green onions if needed.
For the Sweet and Spicy Topping
  • 1 jar Cranberry pepper jelly Can substitute with raspberry or grape jelly.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
  3. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil.
  4. Toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes until they’re golden and crisp.
  5. Blend the softened cream cheese, chopped chives, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  6. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on each baguette slice once they have cooled slightly.
  7. Top each creamy slice with a dollop of cranberry pepper jelly.
  8. Garnish with additional chopped chives before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Optionally sprinkle crushed walnuts or pecans on top for an extra festive touch.
