  • 3 large Eggs Use flax eggs for vegan option

Method
 

Making the Bread
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and eggs. Stir until just combined.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Grease a bowl, place the dough inside, cover with a towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide it into three strands, roll into ropes, and braid together.
  6. Place braided dough on a baking sheet, cover with a towel, let rise for another 30 minutes, preheat oven to 375°F, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Notes

Serve warm with a hint of butter for an added touch. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
